In the nanny industry, the job "Mother’s Helper" is used to describe a position where you "do a little bit of everything" to assist the mother (or father) in everything from childcare to light housekeeping, errands, organizing, laundry etc. Often a parent is at home at least part-time and hires you to help out with all the various jobs she/he does. A Mother’s Helper is not expected to do all the extras plus care for the children full-time, though you must be qualified to care for the children as much as is required.
For this position, we require 2 years childcare experience, which can be as a mother's helper or regular babysitter. Many experienced nannies started their careers in this important position, as it will gain you additional valuable experience prior to becoming a full-charge nanny.
