Nanny Salary and Duties

Our live-out nannies’ salaries typically range from $12-15 or more per hour. A full-time nanny might be paid on a weekly basis of $480-600 with some flexibility of hours negotiated. A live-in nanny will ask to be paid $400-500 for a 40 hour week since room and board are in addition to her wages. Longer hours and more pay may be negotiated, keeping in mind that the best long-term relationship will be one in which the nanny has set hours and time-off which are honored.

At Alpine Nannies we believe that a nanny should focus on your children and can be expected to do child-related household chores (tidying up children’s rooms, cooking for them and tidying the kitchen, doing their laundry). If you need more housekeeping along with childcare, we can assist you in finding a housekeeper, or a mother’s helper who can do some of each.
